More on Inside Story

Wasted Locker: The Inside Story

Evil Corp recently launched a new targeted ransomware attack called WastedLocker against some of the largest U.S. companies and could have easily knocked them all out. Evil Corp is not just a fictional company from “Mr. Robot”. It's a real-world sophisticated cyber crime gang of the same name that has continued on undeterred by FBI indictments of its leaders.

Symantec threat hunters discovered and identified a breach inside dozens of corporate networks and were able to protect these companies before ransomware was deployed and caused damage.

Join this session to see an exclusive premiere of the WastedLocker documentary and hear directly from Threat Hunters Kevin Haley and Jon DiMaggio on how they discovered and stopped WastedLocker.

A True Story: How a Formula One Racing Team Went Remote

Williams Racing is a Formula One team with 43 years, nine World Constructors’ Championships and seven Drivers’ Championships to their name. As the team concluded their final preparations for the 2020 championship, COVID-19 delivered a potential setback that would dwarf any previous challenges in or out of the racing paddock. With the inaugural race called off just hours before it was due to commence, the racing team and all its employees were required to work remotely—and safely—in a mission-critical effort that had to be quickly executed. Hear from Graeme Hackland, Chief Information Officer, on how he and his team went from 100% in-person to 100% remote in a month.

Nation-state Espionage

North Korea is not your average nation-state attacker. A lot of businesses assume they will never be attacked by a nation-state, but that’s a mistake. Nation-states like North Korea can hack into businesses to get intellectual property, or because they represent a stepping stone in a supply chain, or the business is a telecommunications company or airline that the nation-state can use to spy on other people. Given the huge range of their motivation, your business could be at risk. Come hear the experts in North Korean Cyber Attackers, Dick O’Brien and Sylvester Segura, talk through what you need to know to protect your business from the North Korean cyber ecosystem; the varying motivations behind attack groups; and a deep dive into the operations of Stonefly, a North Korean group heavily involved in stealing industrial and military secrets.
